Themis Kulturforum e.V.

Role: Content Strategy • UX/UI • Digital Identity

Summary: Designed a digital presence for Themis Kulturforum, translating abstract educational and cultural values into a structured and approachable digital experience despite limited existing content and digital assets.

Designing with Limited Structure

Themis Kulturforum is an organization centered around education, communication, and personal development through humanistic values. One of the main challenges of the project was translating broad and highly conceptual ideas into a digital experience that felt clear, approachable, and easy to navigate.

The project began with very limited structured content, requiring the experience, hierarchy, and communication flow to be defined almost entirely from scratch. Rather than relying on complex interactions or dense visuals, the focus became creating clarity through structure, pacing, readability, and content organization.

Process and Exploration

The process focused heavily on content organization, hierarchy definition, and translating abstract messaging into a more structured digital experience.

Because much of the initial content was conceptual and text-heavy, I explored different approaches to visual pacing, spacing, and information hierarchy to improve readability and guide users more naturally through the experience.

Building an Accessible Digital Presence

A restrained layout system, consistent spacing, and minimal interaction patterns helped create a calmer reading experience while supporting the organization’s educational and community-oriented values. Typography, content grouping, and visual hierarchy were carefully structured to improve readability across devices and support long-form informational content.

The final experience prioritized accessibility and communication clarity over visual complexity, creating a platform that better reflects the organization’s mission and makes its content more approachable to broader audiences.

Outcomes & Impact

The project established a clearer and more structured digital presence for Themis Kulturforum while improving the accessibility and readability of its communication online. Also, the simplified structure and more intentional content hierarchy helped create a more approachable experience for users seeking information about the organization, its values, and its educational initiatives.

This project strengthened my understanding of how structure, spacing, and visual restraint can help transform abstract ideas into experiences that feel more accessible, approachable, and easier to navigate.
